Multimedia social technologies for engagement, reflection and learning feature prominently in the U & I programme. MOOSE and Open Habitat have highlighted the value of 3-D Multi User Virtual Environments in learning and teaching and these projects have designed and built innovative learning activities in Second Life for undergraduates on campus and at distance; the skills they acquire becoming an integrated part of their learning. ASEL have developed, implemented and evaluated the use of audio for learners in next generation technologies, and Reflect 2.0 are collecting and assembling pictures and sound to form multimedia stories in an innovative approach to reflective learning. Planet is using Web 2.0 technologies to develop a pattern language approach to building a collaborative software platform to facilitate community- based learning pattern creation. |
